Hey,
I am Rhea, a Zoology and Chemistry major turned Product Designer. I am from the beautiful hilly regions of Northeast India and am currently based in San Francisco, and just graduated with an MDes in Human Computer Interaction at the California College of the Arts 🌉
While my background might appear different, it shares a common thread with experience design—field trips and research to uncover incredible aspects of our world and their contributions to people's well-being.
Ultimately, isn't that what experience design is all about?
But how did I come into Design at all, you might be thinking?
I have always been intrigued by Arts and Design.
Coming from a family of artists, I had been trying to understand the essence of solving problems creatively ever since I was a kid.
But it was not until my undergrad years studying Zoology and Chemistry, that I got introduced to Experience Design and started exploring the subject. Using the research skills that I already acquired from my background in science, I went on a self-exploration journey to learn how to apply them in Design.
After that, I worked as a product designer in India, building a design system and leading the product design for a startup. It was a great experience, but I knew there was so much more to learn. That’s when I decided to dive deeper and study design at California College of the Arts. I learned a ton about everything from design systems and branding to service design and leadership. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m excited to put my knowledge to work in the real world.
When I'm not working on design projects, you'll usually find me drawing, animating, or painting. I really enjoy making little animated clips to go with my favorite songs – it's so much fun! Music is a huge part of my life. I love singing, but only when no one’s around! Here are some of my favorite shoegaze music.
I’ve been practicing yoga for ages and it’s become a really important part of my life.
Oh, and one random thing about me: I collect rubber ducks from all over the world. It’s a small collection so far, but I’m always on the lookout for new ones.
That's a bit about me.
Feel free to connect if you'd like to have a conversation! 🐥
